How does a quad ride in Agafay work?
You are picked up at your hotel or riad in Marrakech and driven to the Agafay Desert, about 40–50 minutes away. At the base you receive a helmet and a desert scarf, the guide explains the controls (throttle, brakes, turning) and you try the quad on a flat area before setting off.
The group then follows the guide in a line on desert tracks, with stops for photos. The ride lasts one hour, or two hours on the sunset option, and ends with mint tea before the drive back.
What should I wear?
- Closed shoes or trainers (no sandals)
- Long trousers
- Sunglasses against dust and sun
- A light jacket from November to March: evenings are cold
- Clothes that can get dusty
Is quad biking in Agafay safe?
The ride is guided, the speed is set by the guide and the tracks are away from public roads. Follow the guide, keep your distance from the quad in front and tell the guide if you want to go slower. Pregnant women and people with back or neck problems should skip quad and buggy rides and choose the dinner show instead.
Can children ride?
Children ride as passengers behind an adult. Tell us the age of each child when you book and we confirm the best option, which can also be the two-seater buggy.
Quad or buggy?
The quad gives the most freedom and a sportier feel. The buggy has a steering wheel, seat belts and two seats side by side, which suits couples and first-timers.
